Recently, the National Engineering Research Center for medical implant intervention devices and materials of WEGO group (hereinafter referred to as the “National Engineering Research Center”) stood out from more than 350 scientific research institutions, was included in the 191 new sequence management list by the national development and Reform Commission, and became the first National Engineering Research Center led by enterprises in the industry. Its scientific research and technical strength was recognized by the state again.
It is understood that the National Engineering Research Center is a “national team” supporting and serving the implementation of major national strategic tasks and key projects. It is a research and development entity relying on the construction of enterprises, scientific research institutions and colleges and universities with strong research and development and comprehensive strength.
The original “National Engineering Laboratory for medical implant devices” was approved by the national development and Reform Commission in 2009 and jointly established by WEGO group and Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It aims to solve the major common technical difficulties in the field of high-performance implant intervention devices and break through the “neck” technologies such as the preparation of key common materials, surface functional modification and precision complex molding, Lead the rapid development of orthopaedic implants, intracardiac consumables, blood purification devices and other industries in China. After strict evaluation and screening, in the second batch of evaluation, it successfully passed the optimization and integration evaluation of the national development and Reform Commission, renamed “National Engineering Research Center for medical implant intervention devices and materials”, and was officially incorporated into the new sequence management of the National Engineering Research Center.
We believe that under the active guidance of the party and the government, the “National Engineering Research Center” will continue to create new technologies and lead the development of the industry in combination with the needs of the country and the people.
